On December 20, 2017 the JustLeadershipUSA Board of Directors reluctantly accepted the resignation of President and Founder Glenn E. Martin. Mr. Martin built the organization from the ground up and changed the way that once incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people, their families, and communities see their ability to change the structures that affect their lives. For that we are all forever grateful.
We continue to embrace the values of fairness, equality, accountability, and redemption that were instilled in the work of JustLeadershipUSA from its beginning.
We acknowledge and applaud the sacrifices, hard work, and resiliency that Glenn E. Martin exemplified as a leader and believe we will see more of his pathbreaking leadership in the future.
JustLeadershipUSA has formed a transition committee led by the Chair of the Board and will continue to do the important work of promoting justice.

The nation’s prisons and jails have been in crisis long before COVID-19. This is because most correctional facilities do not have plans in place to deal with any kind of emergency, be it a pandemic, a flood or a cyber attack.
This must change.
Directly impacted people are the best voices to help change our country’s discriminatory policies. We have policy solutions to appropriately manage the range of disasters that impact correctional facilities nationwide, uplift the dignity and humanity of incarcerated people, and decarcerate the United States.
Join us, and tell your elected officials to adopt these solutions, now.
